I really like the cake on the top and middle left Sarah. :) The curtain I am not sure if it is needed or not. I think it works fine with the illustrative cake and the title. The cookies could work too. The loose feel is definitely unexpected compared to the previous illustrations you had before. Continue to push your project, as well as surprise us. :)
I am starting to enjoy the pie/cake in the window idea more and more... but I'm wondering how you can make the window shade interact more with the logo. I know the actual window is implied, but maybe you could very faintly draw some vertical lines that fade away to show how the window would be. Otherwise, to me it looks like just a floating pink square.
And as far as the pie in the shape of a V logo... I really enjoyed in one of your sketches how you had it colored in what looked like red crayon and then had a semi-circle going around the name. Maybe you could recreate than in the computer... just a thought...
I like the cake and the cookies. They are representational of the client and work so wonderfully with the type. I think you have a winner in either of these. nice job.
